What is the best time to book a guided diver hunt? |

Diver migration changes little from year to year in our area of Ontario. The first Bluebills usually arrive to Lake St. Clair, Rondeau Bay & the Lower Detroit River/Western Lake Erie Basin in the last weeks of October. Canvasbacks typically show up in their full migration mid-November and remain to the end of our season on December 20th or freeze up. |

What does my guide service offer? |

|
Twenty years of diver hunting experience in this area. Scouting locations daily will offer you the best opportunity to kill Canvasback, Redhead, & Bluebill ducks! My equipment is the best there is, from decoys, to boats, to rigging! |

What do I need to bring along? |
|
|
Shotgun, with non-toxic shot, BB, 1's, & 2's for Divers/Puddlers. Ontario Small Game Licence along with a Federal Duck Stamp. Warm waterproof camoflage clothing, waders (optional), digital camera, food, etc. |

Best weather conditions? |
|
|
Cold weather, and strong wind keep the Divers moving through the decoys all day. |

How long does a day hunt last? |
|
|
Depending on weather conditions we will depart by boat approximately an hour before shooting time (high wind will delay departure until first light). Hunt will last until 3:30PM at the latest, when the rig will be picked up to go back to the dock. |

How many decoys are used? |
|
|
I own four hundred solid body decoys (wood, cork, & foam wrapped in burlap). I will usually place 77 Canvasback magnums to hunt the boat blind, and depending on how many of the 4 layout boats are being hunted, I will put out the remaining decoys accordingly. |

How should I plan a hunt? |
|
|
Here, November is the best time to book for Divers! Figure out the dates you would like, and how many in your party then send me an e mail, I'll reply with availability. When your dates are confirmed, I will require a 50% non-refundable deposit to book your hunt. Do not worry about hotel reservations, I will not know where to direct you until the week of, or even days before your hunt, depending on where the ducks are staging. There is plenty of lodging within minutes of all areas I hunt! |

My entire rig is completely mobile, in single trip I can move a 22' boat blind, 4 layout boats, decoys, & gear! I live within an hour of the best diver hunting anywhere, Mitchell's Bay, St Lukes Bay, Rondeau Bay, Lake St. Clair, Lake Erie, & the Detroit River Basin. |
